A brand from Sydney-based company G&M Cosmetics has been declared the most trusted name in mainland China, according to a Monash University index.

Australian Creams uses packaging supplied by Jewel Corp, and is one of a number of big beauty brands under the umbrella of G&M.

As well as designs for bottles, jars, tubes, closures and dispensers, Jewel Corp supplies acrylic jars, vacuum bottles and ceramic aluminium sleeved jars.

The family business is headed up by George and Zvonko Jordanov (below) at its Taren Point facility in Sydney's south.

Jewel Corp manufactures all its packaging at its own facility in China, as it found the tooling in Australia to be prohibitively expensive.

Australian Creams was ranked above Qantas and James Packer’s gambling empire Crown Group in the Australian Brands in China index, which was produced by Monash University and marketing outfit Digital Crew.

The results came following a survey of more than 5400 mainland Chinese across 70 Australian brands.

Weet-Bix ranked fifth overall in China, followed by EMU Australia, Coles, Chemist Warehouse, Myer, and Destination Gold Coast.

Baby formula brands have suffered, however, because the Chinese consider them less reliable in terms of quality and supply.
