At PackExpo Chicago in October, Robopac and OCME showcased their "most innovative, tested and reliable" end-of-line packaging solutions, all of which promise to meet the needs of different product sectors.

Among the technologies showcased, in the field of stretch wrappers, was the Robot S7 – the super-flexible, self-propelled standalone with stretch film and R-Connect technology, which is in line with all Industry 4.0 requirements, and is ideal for handling products of any size, shape and weight.

The Technoplat for fully automatic pallet wrapping was also on show, which is inserted at the end of the wrapping cycle to cut, fix and weld the final part of the film; as well as the Masterwrap HD, a semi-automatic rotating arm wrapping machine that is ideal for stabilising unstable and heavy loads.

There was also the new Orbit R horizontal stretch wrapper with rotating ring, which can be added to integrated work cells or lines, and is designed to handle – with speed and efficiency – elongated products such as doors, windows, cabinets, aluminium extrusions and flooring.

Directly from the US production comes the LT Automatic Stretch Wrapper, the new turntable stretch wrapper, which, with its 40 pallets per hour, is a high-level entry level that guarantees high performance in terms of speed, reduced dimensions, lower film consumption, and greater safety for operators.

Moving away from stretch wrappers to other packaging solutions, first up was the Prasmatic TC line of case packers that is ergonomic, modular, flexible, and comes with fast format changeover and production between 35 and 85 packs per minute.

Next, the Sotemapack WA 20, which is a solution with compact dimensions for speeds of up to 20 packs per minute and alternating operation. It is available in various configurations and perfect for handling products such as flexible pouches and rigid envelopes.

Both these technologies were the subject of live demos, with the first handling trays of various sizes and bottle packaging, while the other handled rice packs.

Completing the offer at Pack Expo was the TopTier palletiser range, available with integrated stretch wrapping, and intralogistics solutions by OCME, which reduces labour costs and improve production efficiency with the implementation of laser-guided LGVs.

In Australia, Robopac is represented by Foodmach, which also has access through this partnership to OCME technology for its customers.
