JL Lennard has appointed Paul Meischke as its new CEO to lead the further expansion of the packaging and processing machinery and food service equipment supply and service company.

Founded 144 years ago, and with branches in five states and New Zealand, family-owned JL Lennard is one of Australasia’s oldest and strongest companies in its supply and service fields.

These extend from supply and service of manufacturing, processing and packaging machinery, through to commercial kitchen and food service equipment for supermarkets, fast food operations, restaurants, bars, cafes, hospitals and convenience stores.

“With Paul's outstanding career achievements in multinational management, marketing and restaurant operation roles, he is an experienced, energetic and highly qualified leader who is ideally placed to open a bright new chapter in our company’s history. I look forward to him leading JL Lennard through its next stage of strong growth,” said David Boekemann, JL Lennard’s CEO for 34 years, who is vacating the role to focus on ongoing priorities as a director of the company.

Henry Boekemann, director and marketing and communications manager, who is a member of the fourth generation of the Boekemann family to be involved in JL Lennard, will support Meischke in his major initiatives, including customer service, e-commerce and parts supply advances, field service solutions, and streamlined robotics solutions to customer needs.

“Meischke is an accomplished customer-centric leader with MBA qualifications. His 22 years of leadership roles has most recently included managing customer operational delivery, service and growth improvements within an organisation of 3500 people,” David Boekemann added.

“Known for an uncompromising focus on high quality standards and strongly pursuing service and expansion opportunities, Meischke has immersed himself in our company and our long-held customer service philosophies during this past year since he joined us as group general manager.”

Meischke said his time with JL Lennard has given him an outstanding opportunity to establish rapport with customer groups and with the employee team that will help drive it forward.

“With a strong commitment to the company and its legacy, I look forward with enthusiasm to expanding the great reputation and capabilities of a unique company that has been respected in both Australia and New Zealand for so long,” Meischke said.

Delivering consistently high standards of quality, service and integrity, JL Lennard represents some of the world’s leading names in food equipment for major restaurants, quick service restaurants, hotels and retail food outlets.

There's also been movement in the National Reconstruction Fund with grants awarded, and research into bush foods highlights their potential nutritional and preservative powers.

Woolworths Group reported a 1.5 per cent increase in supermarket sales in the March quarter, a noticeable distance behind the 4.2 per cent growth reported by Coles earlier in the week.

Meat & Livestock Australia says its latest research by CSIRO shows the Australian red meat and livestock industry has reduced its net greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 78 per cent since 2005.
