TomKat Global Solutions has signed an exclusive supply agreement with Thai Sekisui Foam and Sekisui Foam Australia, marking a major step in its expansion into Southeast Asia.

The agreement was formalised at the official residence of the Australian Ambassador to Thailand during Australia’s second Green Economy business mission, held alongside Sustainability Expo 2025 in Bangkok.

TomKat’s KoolPak packaging system – designed to replace single-use polystyrene in the cold chain – will now utilise advanced foam materials supplied exclusively by Sekisui.

TomKat’s KoolPak packaging system – designed to replace single-use polystyrene in the cold chain – will now utilise advanced foam materials supplied exclusively by Sekisui. The reusable and recyclable liner is patented by TomKat and has already proven its ability to reduce carbon emissions and replace polystyrene on an industrial scale.

Sekisui Foam International, a global leader in the design, development and production of high-quality physically crosslinked polyolefin foam, brings its expertise to the partnership. Sekisui Foam Australia (Sekisui Pilon), which has supported TomKat since 2019, said the agreement aligns with Sekisui’s mission to empower customers and society to solve social issues through sustainable and cutting-edge solutions.

The deal builds on more than six years of collaboration between the companies. TomKat co-founder Tom Long said the agreement was transformative for the business. “It confirms our long-term commitment and shared belief in sustainable innovation. Sekisui’s support ensures we can deliver high-performance, sustainable packaging at scale for global cold chains.”

Sekisui Foam Australia managing director Phil Cocking described the agreement as recognition of TomKat’s work in bringing KoolPak to commercial readiness. He said the solution combines smart technology with a strong circular economy focus, aligning with Sekisui’s goal of “creating innovation for the Earth”.

Kath Long, co-founder of TomKat, added that the mission remained clear: to remove polystyrene from the global cold chain. “This agreement accelerates our ability to deliver carbon-neutral packaging across key industries including agri-food, seafood, supermarkets, and pharmaceuticals,” she said.

Australian Ambassador to Thailand, Dr Angela Macdonald PSM, who hosted the signing, said the partnership was a practical example of cross-country collaboration to meet shared carbon reduction and sustainability goals. “Reducing waste and building greener economies is key to creating a future which benefits trade and our planet,” she said.

The agreement comes as TomKat embarks on a Series A capital raise to support its global climate ambitions, underpinned by its intellectual property portfolio and expanding pipeline of logistics and food industry partnerships. As previously reported by PKN, the company has confirmed plans to expand its operations in Thailand.

According to TomKat, the deal positions the partners to meet rising demand in the global cold chain packaging market, valued at USD 27.4 billion in 2023 and growing at more than 10 per cent annually.
