AUSPACK 2022, the southern hemisphere’s leading processing and packaging trade event, opened its doors to high expectations this morning.

After a hiatus of three long years, the globally recognised, long-running, AUSPACK event is running all week, at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, with some 200 exhibitors filling the hall.

Attendees are expected from both Australia and overseas, and will see hundreds of brands on the show floor, offering solutions that address a range of industry trends and themes, including Industry 4.0, sustainability, advanced manufacturing, and the circular economy.

Cutting the ribbon with the AUSPACK board to open the show, Mark Dingley, chairman of show organiser the Australian Packaging and Processing Machinery Association (APPMA), said: “It is exciting to be here. AUSPACK is the largest B2B trade show in Australia since Covid, it is fantastic to be the first.

“Visitors can expect a treat, with more machinery on the floor than 2019, and more Australian exhibitors than ever before. We are all set for a blockbuster show.”

Innovation will be demonstrated live on many stands, and AUSPACK 2022 visitors will see for themselves products that offer enhanced safety, security, automation and cost-saving benefits.

The exhibition itself is just part of the wider event for 2022, which includes the AUSPACK Leaders’ Forum running on Wednesday and Thursday, and bringing a programme of high-end, keynote presentations, and panel discussions designed for key decision makers in the processing and packaging industries.

Offering a fully flexible program that allows attendees to purchase tickets to selected sessions most relevant to their business, the Forum will allow attendees to choose from a variety of sessions across the two-day event to build the agenda that works for them.

Prices start from $150 a session, and attendees can pick their own agenda across the Forum, or register for the whole event with a two-day ticket. Tickets are available here.

In addition, the expanded Solutions Theatres on the AUSPACK 2022 show floor is free to registered visitors, and is providing in-depth overviews of technology, solutions and strategies, with sessions covering supply chain and procurement; education; preventative maintenance; materials and packaging design; network security; the circular economy; the future of manufacturing and warehousing; and more. INDUSTRY'S NIGHT OF NIGHTS

Tickets for the APPMA 2022 Awards of Excellence Gala Dinner, to be held on the Thursday evening during AUSPACK, are sold out. MC for the night is popular entertainer Tim Campbell, star of stage and screen.

The finalists for the awards have been announced across eight categories, and anticipation is mounting to find out who the winners are. The awards have broadened for this year, seeking out and recognising industry innovation, and celebrating success across a wide spectrum of the packaging and processing industry.

And at the industry’s night of nights, the Gala Dinner, a historic announcement will be made, which the organisers say will "change the game" for the Australasian processing and packaging industry.

OPTIMISE YOUR MEDIA COVERAGE

As media partner to AUSPACK, PKN is exhibiting at the show on stand B120, together with sister media brands Food & Drink Business magazine and Print21. A highlight on the stand is the live PKN Podcast studio, where we are recording the #AUSPACK Files, speaking to visitors and exhibitors about their AUSPACK experience and innovation on the show floor. The PKN team will also be filming live video interviews and posting daily updates to deliver a continuous news feed to the Australian packaging and processing industry.

AUSPACK 2022 runs from today until Friday.
