Spanish fashion house Adolfo Domínguez has introduced its new fragrance line, ADN, featuring a circular wooden packaging solution developed with packaging manufacturer Quadpack.

The fragrance bottles use a bespoke Woodacity cap and collar system made entirely of PEFC-certified maple. Designed in collaboration with Antonio Puig and Quadpack, the components were created following circular design principles, with a focus on easy disassembly and material separation.

Quadpack reengineered Puig’s dismantling system using its patented Woodacity technology. The monomaterial wooden collar screws directly onto the glass bottle to secure the pump, while the cap clicks onto the collar. The design avoids the use of glue, plastic or other intermediate materials, and can be dismantled for recycling at the end of life.

The Woodacity components are produced and decorated at Quadpack’s wood factory in Spain. The site includes a biomass plant that uses wood waste to generate energy for drying ovens and temperature control systems, reducing the need for external processing and transport.

Adolfo Domínguez previously used Woodacity technology in its Oriental Collection, featuring ash caps. For ADN, the company selected certified maple for its smooth finish and subtle grain, with the brand’s logo laser-engraved around the collar.

Quadpack said the collaboration with Puig and Adolfo Domínguez “reshapes the future of wooden packaging” through the development of the bespoke cap and collar system.
