Beverage packaging technology specialist Sidel’s Octeville site in France has been awarded the Gold Medal by sustainability assessors, EcoVadis, following a comprehensive review of its supply chain strategy at both local and corporate-group level.

Sidel was also positioned in the top five per cent of reporting companies in 2024 by EcoVadis, highlighting the company’s commitment to its sustainability practices and transparency.

“We’re thrilled to announce that we have been awarded the prestigious Gold Medal for our EcoVadis reporting,” said Francesca Bellucci, VP Strategy and Sustainability at Sidel.

“This is a remarkable achievement that reflects our unwavering commitment to sustainability, ethics, and responsible business practices.”

Sidel partnered with EcoVadis in 2017 to assess and improve its environmental, social, and ethical performance as part of its new supply chain strategy.

Sidel's latest achievement follows a comprehensive review involving more than 300 questions covering critical areas such as environmental impact, labour rights, health and safety, ethics, and responsible procurement.

"The evaluation was both rigorous and extensive, demanding significant collaboration and commitment from our teams," said Armelle Biton, HSE business partner at Sidel.

"It encompassed the Sidel Octeville site and corporate-level assessments, adding complexity to the process and making the final recognition all the more rewarding."

The company said the Gold Medal not only celebrates its current accomplishments, but also sets the stage for wider ongoing efforts towards group-level reporting.

“We are confident that this success will inspire us to reach even greater heights in our sustainability journey,” Bellucci concluded.
