For narrow web label printers, Jet Technologies will bring the new PureTone FPC Ink System from Pulse Roll Label Products to PacPrint 2017.

The new food packaging compliant (FPC) ink range from narrow web ink specialist Pulse Roll Label builds on the successful PureTone ink system first launched at Labelexpo Europe in 2015.

The PureTone FPC UV flexo ink system offers all the advantages of the original range – superior colour consistency, accuracy and repeatability – and is specifically for label converters supplying industry sectors that require compliance to food packaging regulations and guidelines.

Jet Technologies, which will dedicate part of its PacPrint exhibit (stand D67) to Pure Tone FPC, is reportedly already working with some of its Australian customers on the changeover to the new ink, which is intended for non-direct food contact labelling and packaging applications across the food, pharma, health, personal care and cosmetics sectors.

As with the original PureTone ink system, PureTone FPC includes a high strength process series (including process inks which enable the printer to achieve ISO 12647-6) and a mono-pigmented mixing base scheme which results in clean and crisp colours for easy and accurate colour matching.

Pulse Roll Label says label printers benefit from the optimised colour strength which allows lower film weights, increased press stability and complete pre-press colour control through digital ink management, all resulting in greater production efficiencies.

PureTone FPC is suitable for shrink films as well as general label printing, with excellent adhesion to a wide range of substrates including coated papers and films.

PureTone FPC is complemented by a new range of other FPC UV flexo products, formulated specifically for the food label market, including a food packaging compliant shrink sleeve opaque white, backing black, high density black and a selection of metallic inks.

New food packaging compliant varnishes, adhesives and additives include gloss, satin, matt and ultra matt varnishes, the company’s best-selling peel and read release varnish and laminating adhesives.

All FPC UV flexo products have been formulated to comply with the regulations and guidelines for non-direct food contact packaging applications.

The new food packaging compliant range of products has undergone extensive beta testing at multiple label printing sites both in the UK and in selected international markets.
