Digital printer developer Xeikon has parted ways with local dealer Absolute Electronics.

The company has announced it will launch its own dedicated sales, service and support operation in Australia and New Zealand next month.

The decision follows print and packaging consumables company Flint Group's acquisition of Xeikon, which helped lay the foundations for Flint’s first significant venture into hardware.

Xeikon's Asia Pacific MD Bent Serritslev said the time was right for a direct sales and service organisation in Australia and New Zealand.

"It will handle the full range of Xeikon digital presses and solutions for labels, folding cartons and commercial printing,” he said.

“Xeikon would like to thank Absolute Electronics for its great long-term service and support in the region, and for helping us to build such a firm foundation.

"We'll work closely with Absolute Electronics during the transitional period to ensure our customers remain a top priority.”
