Ed Zac, the long-serving principal of packaging design and manufacturing company Zacpac, has passed away.

Zac's history in the packaging industry started when he joined Universal Containers in Bankstown, Sydney. He went on to start Zacpac, based in Ingleburn, NSW, 20 years ago.

Aged 91 when he died, he left a significant legacy for his large family and many employees, who he treated with friendship and respect.

One of his employees stated that Zac was “a very inspirational person" and had an "old-school charm" which made every employee feel a part of the family.

"He welcomed all staff and visitors alike, and this culture flowed down to everyone that works for Zacpac, influencing them to do the same,” she said.

Zacpac opened the doors to a 8000sqm $25m packaging plant in Stapylton, Queensland late last year. The company has grown by more than 30 per cent year-on-year over the last three years, and this expansion project is the result of an influx of multinational clients in the food and beverage, personal care, and wine markets.
