Food packaging supplier tna has added another string to its bow with the acquisition of a US-based inserting and labelling company.

CEO Alf Taylor said tna was keen to expand its services in the promotional and value-add packaging arena, offering labels, coupons, sachets and toys to food manufacturers seeking new ways to market their goods.

Unique Solutions supplies inserts and onserts which are dispensed or applied using its inserting and labelling equipment.

Tna will have access to the company's turnkey In-Pak and On-Pak programs, and can use its continuous perforated bandolier (CPB) technology.

Taylor said he looked forward to introducing Unique Solutions' services and products to customers.

Unique Solutions has been developing and manufacturing internationally-patented continuous-feed systems and labelling equipment since 1978.

It uses CPB technology to insert value-added two-dimensional (e.g. coupons, magnets and tattoos) and three-dimensional items (e.g. toys, scoops and dry or liquid-filled sachets) into primary packaging at up to 1000 pieces per minute with a proven accuracy level of 99.9 per cent.

Its automated, high-speed inserting and labelling equipment allows clients to execute their promotions efficiently.

Unique Solutions’ equipment design easily integrates with all types of production lines including high performance vertical or horizontal form, fill and seal applications as well as cartoning, flow-wrapping and conveying lines. Its labelling equipment is compatible with any application requiring wipe-on, blow-on, tamp-on, corner-wrap, swing tamp or vertical form, fill and seal packaging lines.

Unique Solutions will retain its brand and become integrated into the tna group.
