Melbourne-based flexible packaging printer and converter RollsPack walked off with five awards, including Best in Show, at the recent 2017 FPLMA Awards.
The Flexible Packaging and Label Manufacturers Association (FPLMA) held its annual awards on 20 October, at a gala dinner that marked the end of its annual conference.
“We have this evening the best of the best on show within our industry and I encourage more members to participate in 2018,” said Mark Easton, FPLMA president, in his opening speech.
In the flexible packaging category, RollsPack was awarded two Gold, two Silver and the prestigious Best in Show Award for its flexo and gravure printed flexible packaging.
RollsPack's 4 colour process gravure expertise won it a silver award for its work for The Muesli Company, and gold for Roma Foods' Orgran Apricot pack

Its 4 colour process flexo work for Ivory Coat's Natural Health dog food pack, won silver, and the Little Lucifer job for Pental scored a gold and overall Best of Show.
PKN spoke to Chris Doolan, print manager at RollsPack, who explained there are a number of reasons the company had success with the Little Lucifer design.
"Having installed our new flexographic printing machine has allowed us to separate jobs differently to what we have in the past.
"We also now have good control of registration thus allowing us to minimise the amount of colours we need to print certain designs. This has also permitted us to run reversed out type in multiple process colours.
"Historically Little Lucifer would have run as an eight colour job, but with the advancement in plate technology (Kodak) we have separated it as four colour process plus white and we have still been able to achieve the density of what would have previously been a spot colour.
Commenting on the multiple wins, MD Phillip Rolls said: “We are over the moon with the fantastic result and feel it is a great representation of the quality provided through our prepress and print expertise. Our team are passionate about their work and truly deserve being recognised for a job well done.”
