For the elderly or those suffering from conditions such as arthritis, 'wrap rage' is no laughing matter.

Indeed, according to Arthritis Australia, for many of the 6.4 million Australians with disabilities or 11.7 million with eyesight problems, difficult-to-open packaging can cause serious self-esteem problems or even cause people to harm themselves.

But even those in younger and fitter demographics can find certain items, such as 'clamshell' packs, a test of strength and patience, as comedian Larry David from Curb Your Enthusiasm found when trying to open up his new navigation device.
