Burger wrapper capes, carton vests, and shirts consisting of sauce lids... These were some of the 'couture' items made out of McDonalds packaging for a Miami university project recently.
According to Cosmopolitan, the collection was put on by students at Miami International University of Art and Design, and used up a huge amount of McDonald's packaging:
- 7000 McDonald’s sandwich wrappers
- 2800 fry boxes
- 2800 straws
- 825 soft drink cups
- 225 'Happy Meal' boxes
- 2900 sandwich boxes
- 1000 Sriracha sauce lids; and
- 250 to-go bags.
A local McDonald's franchise provided the materials for the students to get to work.
The end result was a $5000 scholarship which went to Pablo Machado Palomeque.
He made 7000 butterflies from 1100 sandwich wrappers...
