Andrew Pooch has stepped up as the new managing director of Tetra Pak Oceania, succeeding Craig Salkeld.

Salkeld departs after more than 20 years in the company, to pursue other interests.

Pooch will be responsible for Tetra Pak’s business operations in Australia and New Zealand.

He said he was looking forward to building on the achievements led by Salkeld.

"Tetra Pak Oceania is in a very exciting phase as we see continued growth, especially within the export business in our core customer categories of UHT milk and ready-to-drink beverages,” Pooch said.

Pooch began his career in Tetra Pak New Zealand in 1988 and he has significant experience from the wider Tetra Laval Group.

He has held several sales positions across Asia and Oceania with Tetra Pak. In 2012, Pooch joined Sidel as vice president for the South-East Asia and Pacific Zone. Then, in late 2014, he moved to DeLaval as vice president of the Australia and New Zealand region before returning to Tetra Pak to take on the role of key account director for Tetra Pak New Zealand.

“The Tetra Pak approach to business is very important to me," he said.

"In everything we do, we focus on ensuring that our customers deliver products of outstanding quality and consumer appeal, while maintaining the highest standards of food safety, operational performance, and sustainability,” Pooch added.

Pooch will relocate to Melbourne to take on the new role.
