Amcor's LiquiForm Group has partnered with German filling and packaging equipment manufacturer Krones to further develop and commercialise LiquiForm’s forming and filling manufacturing technology.

Amcor developed the LiquiForm concept in 2006, and subsequently set up a joint venture which owns the patented LiquiForm technology and related intellectual property.

LiquiForm uses the consumable liquid instead of compressed air to hydraulically form and fill the container on one machine simultaneously.

With the LiquiForm technology, Krones has an opportunity to build on existing bottling technology, intellectual property and know-how to develop industrial solutions for improving the total cost of ownership for customers.

LiquiForm technology offers an opportunity for more sustainable and efficient operations as compared to traditional blow and fill technology.

“We are pleased to have Krones as a licensee, given its history of technology and innovation leadership in processing, filling and packaging,” Ashish Saxena, vice president and general manager of The LiquiForm Group, said.

“Adding to the existing efforts of Sidel, Amcor and Yoshino, Krones will aid the technology's commercialisation and enable LiquiForm to reach its full potential.”
