Registrations have opened for AIP's national conference in June, with keynote speakers covering trends and technology impacting the packaging industry.

PMMI chairman Paul Irvine will speak on economic and technology trends such as the changing workforce, sustainability, the focus on personalisation, customisation and automation, and the Internet of Things.

"Consumer packaged goods companies are engaging in manufacturing practices that are flexible, lean and increasingly automated," Irvine said.

LINPAC Packaging's director of innovation Alan Davey will discuss the future of sustainable packaging, and explain the benefits of rPET packaging.

Colorpak's MD Alex Commins will present an insider’s view of navigating an industry where the only constant is change, looking at industry challenges and drivers and how Colorpak has differentiated itself and its products.  

PKN and Food & Drink Business publisher Lindy Hughson will share how some of the Australian food and beverage industry's Top 100 performers and rising stars are using packaging to take the 'brand in the hand' to new levels of consumer engagement and drive successful media and marketing campaigns.

The program includes several other keynote speakers, and a round-up of industry experts leading breakout sessions on issues affecting the packaging industry.

The AIP National Conference is the largest packaging and processing conference of its kind in Australia and New Zealand, and is a part of the annual Packaging & Processing Week.

It will run from 1-2 June at the Crown Promenade in Melbourne, Victoria.

The winning products of the 2025 Healthy Food Guide Awards have been announced, with over 150 products from across supermarket shelves recognised for their nutritional value, including Allied Pinnacle’s high-fibre flour collaboration with Woolworths.

Visy has completed a $30 million upgrade to its 100 per cent recycled paper mill on Gibson Island in Brisbane, which will manufacture new grades of paper for corrugated boxes used by Queensland farmers and food and beverage businesses.

The Cadbury Factory waterfront parklands in Hobart, Tasmania, are receiving a makeover, as Australian chocolate consumption continues to drop. The $150 million attraction is set to open in 2027, with Cadbury acting as brand partner.
