Melbourne-based award-winning Australian ice cream maker Harry’s Ice Cream has made a patriotic and environmental stand with the packaging for its newly launched range of artisanal ice cream flavours for the local summer.

The ice cream maker has announced it will launch 500ml tubs featuring two new flavours to its range – Sticky Date Pudding and Raspberry Cheesecake – which join its already popular Pavlova ice cream.

The company originally launched its range into freezer aisles last year. Started by the Harris family, the company has been making artisan ice cream for the Australian retail and gourmet market since 1994, culminating in the launch of new business, Harry’s Ice Cream, last year.

The company's founder and chief ice cream maker Lawrence Harris said the two new flavours were created in response to requests from a passionate fan base.

“As a local Australian business we listen closely to the suggestions from our customers. They spoke and we have spent months perfecting their most requested flavours,” he said.

“We’re thrilled with how they’ve churned out,” Lawrence continues. “The ice cream has been made with milk from Aussie cows and lovingly produced in our Brunswick production facility.”

The patriotic appeal extends to the packaging. Tub materials were supplied by Amber Plastics of Victoria, with artwork designed by Adelaide-based creative studio Big Red Dog.

Also, to make an environmental mark, the plastic used to make the tubs is fully-recyclable polypropylene.
All three flavours are available at Woolworths and select IGA stores throughout Australia with a RRP of $6.99.
