Trans-Tasman packaging firm Gravure Packaging (GPL) has won a slew of medals at the New Zealand Pride In Print Awards.

In addition to claiming the Process Award for Gravure, GPL was bestowed with five gold medals and two Highly Commended awards.

GPL managing director Greg Chapman said the Musashi Shred & Burn 60g was a “very challenging job”, so it was rewarding to see this work recognised as Process Award-winning standard.

“The print in this job was in perfect registration – the high-definition print cylinders used created a fantastic print result, resulting in photo-realistic images and eye-catching colour,” Chapman said.

GPL is based in both Sydney via subsidiary Australian Packaging (AP) and Wellington (New Zealand).

It also won two gold medals for its work on Chobani yoghurt products.

“GPL’s proprietary high-definition cylinders, internal heat-activated adhesive applied to very tight tolerances and a high-performing shrink film all come together to deliver an outstanding shrink sleeve,” Chapman said.

Other award-winning projects included Frucor-V Iced Coffee, Almo, Almond Milk, and Woolworths' Balnea Soap.
