A training course addressing food safety and packaging standards and regulations will be held on 22 July in Sydney.

The half-day seminar, run by the Australian Institute of Packaging, will help suppliers, packaging businesses and retailers become familiar with current standard requirements.

Course organisers say attendees will be able to apply what they've learned to their own production and distribution situation, "saving waste, improving delivery and increasing profits".

The course content is based on consultation with industry specialists and delivered by Pierre Pienaar, who has a background in packaging research and development.

Those involved in technical, engineering, procurement, design, quality assurance, technical sales and marketing and packaging development are encouraged to attend the event, to be held at Oatlands Golf Course Club House in Sydney from 10am to 3:30pm.
