SEW-Eurodrive’s Victorian sales and product manager, Darren Klonowski, has been responding to the same enquiry over and over this year:

“Food and beverage manufacturers are finding it beneficial to source a comprehensive drive service offering from a single supplier – from gearbox through to the drive electronics. Furthermore, there is a greater want for premium levels of service, support and training.”

SEW-Eurodrive’s Complete Drive Solutions respond to that growing need exactly. These package gearmotors and drive electronics with service, support and training. At Foodpro, the company will exhibit the elements from its vast electronic, electro-mechanical and mechanical solution set that make up the complete end-to-end drive range.

“With an Australia-wide network of service facilities, SEW-Eurodrive is able to work closely with Australian food and beverage manufacturers and OEMs to provide an unrivalled complete drive system resource,” Klonowski added.

Movigear, for example, is a mechatronic high efficiency drive unit whose popularity is due to its IE4 Super Premium Efficiency rating and high degree of ingress protection (IP66), protecting against wash-down processes. It also features an optional anti-stick Teflon outer coating to protect against chemical/ caustic cleaning processes.

SEW’s DAS Series Aseptic gearmotors are designed for hygienic production areas. The Aseptic drive package contributes to the reduction of bacteria, reducing the accumulation of debris and air movements, includes a smooth surface and is not equipped with fans. An IP69K degree of protection is available for motors (IP65K for break motors).

Food & Drink Business

A lot of food and beverage brands look strong when they’re small. They have one product, one pack, one clear idea and then they grow. That’s usually when things start to unravel, not all at once, but quickly enough to matter. The Creative Method founder and creative director, Tony Ibbotson, explains why – and growth is not the problem.

Victorian-based Aquafab has completed a $620,000 Series A raise through Birchal, supported by over 300 investors. The company told Food & Drink Business that the funds will support continued national growth and plans in place to enter the US and UK markets this year.

Rumin8 is accelerating its methane reducing feed additive commercialisation progress in New Zealand, garnering $4.4 million (US$3 million) in investment as the company prepares to enter the final trial process.
