The first-ever FoodTech Qld event, which winds up today, has seen visitors calling it “relevant, dynamic, and informative”.

PKN was there.

Held over three days at the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre, the show has highlighted the importance of Queensland's food and beverage manufacturing industry.

Exhibitors PKN has spoken to have expressed overall satisfaction with the quality of visitors and the level of enquiries, and are pleased to have had the opportunity to have a showcase platform in Queensland, since the industry trade shows are typically staged in Melbourne or Sydney.

“FoodTech Qld is a brand new show dedicated to an important audience, so to see such a dedicated number of people joining us and engaged in what's on offer is very exciting,” he said.

“Many of the visitors are key decision makers for their businesses, so we’re hearing stories of really great leads coming out of it.”

The use of robots and their impact on the industry was another clear trend on the show floor, with 'Yumi' from HMPS demonstrating its ability to solve a Rubik’s cube unaided.

Wiley’s Brett Wiskar also used the new KUKA robot to discuss how the use of technology, along with data and innovation, can feed hungry markets and the growing demand for food and drink.
