Esko's Kongsberg family has had a business boosting week. Esko Kongsberg C won Best Large Format Finishing System by the European Digital Press Association (EDP) on May 21. And Esko's new entry-level Kongsberg V series made its debut on May 20.

Kongsberg V cutting tables are built with the same robustness the Esko Kongsberg family of digital finishing tables delivers. Just at an entry-level price. They are designed with the same reliability, precision and ease of use imperatives.

The EDP Awards 2014 judges gave out 28 Trophies for Europe´s best digital production tools on May 21. Esko’s Kongsberg C digital finishing platform was awarded Best Large Format Finishing System.

EDP 2014 winners.

“The amazing number of nominated products [60 in total] by the Technical Committee of EDP shows the innovation power in our digital industry," stated Rudolf Messer, EDP president.

Marian Zincke, Esko vice president, Digital Finishing Business, acknowledged, “We are delighted with this industry recognition. We already knew the Kongsberg C leapfrogs competitive tables in many ways but it is reassuring to see this acknowledged by the EDP association.  We believe the 'C' in Kongsberg C stands for Capability, Capacity, Consistency, Choice and a Complete solution. Since its launch it has been received with great enthusiasm by our customers.”

Esko Kongsberg C was first introduced to the market in 2013, and customer shipments around the world started in 2014. It provides highest level versatility for all sign, display and packaging applications. One of its new features is composite traverse technology that provides the fastest throughput along with superior quality and precision in cutting and routing compared to all other systems of the same size.

The completely re-engineered and fully-featured superwide digital finishing solutions have been designed for 24/7 production and semi-industrial environments. Kongsberg C60 and C64 models feature an extremely rigid, carbon-composite traverse beam to ensure precision and support high speed, fast acceleration, high quality creasing, and exclusive, powerful 3kW milling capabilities.

Kongsberg C gives high quality finishing results because there are no left/right/middle variances as a result of traverse bending and no deceleration when demanding materials are processed. It can handle the most complex jobs without sacrificing quality or throughput.
