Epson is further extending its offerings for the package printing market with the Epson Stylus Pro WT7900, designed specifically for proofing flexographic and gravure print jobs that require the colour white.

The printer incorporates outstanding achievements in high-resolution ink jet technology including the Epson UltraChrome HDR with White ink.

Capable of printing directly on both ink jet coated clear and metallic films, in roll or cut sheet up to 24 inches wide, the WT7900 can produce quality proofs for a wide range of packaging jobs.

“The great thing about the WT7900 is that it has shown by its success that it meets the needs of graphic arts professionals who want colour accurate package proofs on both clear and opaque substrates without the higher expense of other conventional package proofing systems,” Epson said.

“The WT7900 was developed by Epson specifically to create contract-quality proofs, prototypes and mock-ups of various flexographic and gravure printing products such as packaging that use white ink, and that is exactly what it does day after day with remarkable consistency and reliability.”

Using the print head’s nine colour channels the WT7900 can accurately simulate various colour tints commonly found in different types of white ink, resulting in highly accurate colour proofs, and it has two print modes when working with white: Reverse White Print and Surface White Print.

Food & Drink Business

Our Top 100 2025 edition of Food & Drink Business magazine is more than the annual flagship Top 100 Report. Industry leaders reflect on the year past and the one ahead, we provide our annual news review, M&A wrap-up, and all the executive moves, and a Roman-inspired sports drink, Posca, is our final Rising Star for 2025.

A blend of salt, red wine vinegar, and water – known as Posca – was the ‘original sports drink’, helping to keep the soldiers of the Roman Empire marching up to 30 kilometres per day. Keira Joyce spoke with Posca Hydrate co-founders, Merrick Watts and Ed Stening, about reviving a 2000-year-old functional beverage for the modern healthy lifestyle.

From the big deals to the quiet divestments, Food & Drink Business editor, Kim Berry, recounts the mergers and acquisitions of 2025.
