Melbourne-based flexible packaging specialist RollsPack, has expanded its expertise to develop its own range of pouches for a new product sold online through its RollsPack Promotional Products division.

The garden-in-a-bag pouch is designed for growing herbs (basil, mint, parsley and coriander) on a kitchen benchtop. The pouch contains planting material and a sachet of seeds, with simple instructions to sprinkle the seeds, cover with a thin layer of the soil, and then add water.

RollsPack promotions manager Sophie Fu developed the idea, and the product is packaged under RollsPack's own brand, Sophie's Choice.

The product will be sold online, alongside several other Sophie's Choice customised promotional products.

MD Phillip Rolls tells PKN: “This is an extension of our business model that will take us into new markets."

“We are seeing the rise of online marketing and new technology, and it makes good business sense to test the waters and grow new products to take advantage of these new and emerging markets,” he said.
