HP has commissioned Cosmo Films to supply the film for its HP Indigo Pack Ready system.

The specialty BOPP films manufacturer first formed a relationship with HP when it developed the HP Indigo HPI DP label film for digitally printed labels.

Now, the Pack Ready system, which includes a set of post-print converting solutions will add value to Indigo digital print for labels and packaging.

The first solution, Pack Ready Lamination, provides 'zero cure time' lamination while creating a strong bond between HP Indigo digitally printed substrate and Pack Ready laminate film.

This enables digital converters to print, laminate and pack on demand for immediate time to market.

The Pack Ready films from Cosmo ensure a high lamination bond strength and help maximise the environmental score card of digital printing as the lamination process involves no solvents.

Cosmo's president in the US, Sandeep Dutta (pictured), said the company's strength in thermal lamination films, as well as its global distribution reach and focus on customised innovation had been a big part of securing the deal.

The HP Indigo Pack Ready ecosystem will be on display at drupa 2016 from 31 May to 10 June.
