For brand owners large and small looking to maximise shelf impact and engage the consumer via printed packaging, our LIVE forum in Sydney will bring you up to speed.

New Frontiers in Packaging Print, powered by PKN and Print21, will be held on Friday 3 August in Darling Harbour, and will cover what brand owners and their packaging and marketing teams need to know about the latest global trends in printed packaging and the game-changing technologies available in Australia to produce designs in line with these trends.

We'll be exploring how the adoption of digital printing is moving beyond the realm of labels into other packaging substrates -- from cartonboard to corrugated to flexibles -- and vastly expanding the scope of options open to brand owners for versionalised, personalised and limited edition packaging.

We'll also look at the use of on-pack-triggered augmented reality (AR) experiences, and the use of QR coding and serialisation to build the brand story by proving provenance, authenticity, and triggering consumer engagment experiences.

And we'll cover the all-important area of e-commerce packaging, and how the cardboard delivery carton for an online order can be transformed into a branded platform that enhances the unboxing experience for the consumer.

Don't miss out! Early Bird tickets are still on sale here until midnight tomorrow.

More information on speakers and sessions can be found here

If you haven't experienced one of PKN's LIVE events before, here's a short highlights video from last year's event.

Food & Drink Business

As consumers lean towards functional food and beverages, the sports and energy drink market is leading the charge. Market research company, IMARC Group, has released its Australia Sports and Energy Drinks Market report for 2024, outlining current trends and expected growth over the next decade.

The International Fresh Produce Association (IFPA) ANZ Produce Executive Program (PEP), a leadership and business development program for the fresh produce industry, will make its New Zealand debut from 17-22 August.

Thomas Foods International has moved from two shifts to one extended single shift at its Lobethal processing facility, due to drought and lower livestock supply. The company said it was a “difficult but necessary decision”, given current market conditions.
