Organisers of the 2016 WorldStar Packaging Awards, which last year attracted 264 entries from 37 countries, are now calling for entries.

The competition, now in its 47th year, awards packaging designs in the beverages, electronics, food, health and beauty, household, luxury, medical and pharmaceutical, point-of-sale, and transit categories. Special awards include the WorldStar President's Award, Sustainability Award and Marketing Award.

The awards, run by the World Packaging Organisation (WPO), are presented only to packages which have already won recognition in either a regional or national competition in 2014 or 2015. Judges represent member countries from around the world.

According to WPO, winners gain worldwide recognition and can use the winners' logo on their own promotional material.
