Avery Dennison has opened a new sales and warehousing facility in Brisbane to service customers along Australia's east coast.

The Avery Dennison Berrinba Distribution Centre is less than half an hour away from Brisbane airports, the central business district, and major interstate motorways.

It has been set up to house sales and warehousing functions to serve as the key distribution hub for Avery Dennison’s Label and Graphic Materials, and its Reflectives products.

“The new Berrinba Distribution Centre represents Avery Dennison’s strategic commitment to our customers and suppliers,” Chris Kilgour, commercial director for Label and Packaging Materials in ANZ, said.

“We have incorporated modern technologies and world-class best practices in this new hub facility to ensure fast and efficient response to customers, including next-day delivery to customers in Brisbane and Sydney.”

The Berrinba Distribution Centre runs on a standard 24-hour five-day operation and features modern facilities for optimum workflow and storage.

Previously operating at a smaller location in Acacia Ridge, this new distribution centre with 22 staff members is certified to five Green Star rating, which is the benchmark for sustainable design and energy efficiency.

This includes the use of LED lighting throughout the premises, with solar panels for energy efficiency and filtration system to remove contaminants in rain and storm waters before these flows into the sewers.

This is the first five Green Star rated facility for Avery Dennison in the South Asia Pacific and Sub-Saharan African region.
