The Australian Packaging and Processing Machinery Association (APPMA), organiser of the biennial AUSPACK PLUS exhibition, has announced Australis Engineering as its newest member company.

Australis Engineering is a materials handling equipment specialist based in Sydney.

It markets standard and fully-customised products to help companies improve manufacturing productivity.

The company's core capabilities include: conveyor systems; palletisers; pallet handling; robotics; end-of-line solutions; automation and aluminium profile and accessories.

It supplies equipment for the FMCG sector including fresh and packaged food, beverage, dairy, PET, packaging, pharmaceutical, health and personal care, medical, print, chemicals and the abattoir industries.

The federal government has confirmed it will not proceed with the Tax Laws Amendment (Incentivising Food Donations to Charitable Organisations) Bill 2024, saying the legislation contains “deficiencies that compromise its policy intent”, even as food insecurity remains at record levels across Australia.
