Two artists will go head-to-head in Melbourne's Federation Square to design a new look for Moo Brew beer cans.

On Friday 11 May, Melbourne artist Kenz and Hobart artist Laura McMahon will be given a canvas to work on in a State of Origin battle, with consumers deciding on their favourite.

The winning work will go from the canvas to a limited-release Moo Brew can within five days due to the support of Victorian mobile canning and packaging specialist PakCan Logistics.

“Design is a big part of craft beer culture, but Moo Brew has always showcased original art pieces on our products exactly as the artist intended," Moo Brew brewer Dave Macgill said.

The festival can will be produced as part of Good Beer Week.

The live performance will start at 12 noon on the opening day of Good Beer Week at the Beer DeLuxe festival hub.

Federation Square onlookers can treat themselves to a drink from the specially designed pop-up Moo Brew can bar and then vote on their preferred art work with their empty tins.

The largest stack of empties will determine the winner.

And the can bar itself will be a work of art, designed by Hobart’s Aedan Howlett.
