Amcor Flexibles has for a long time understood that its winning strategy involved partnering with world-leading machine suppliers and identifying preferred suppliers for each category. Amcor Flexibles Asia Pacific's new preferred vendor agreement with world-class lamination machines supplier, Nordmeccanica, signed on 18 November 2014, is one of several partnerships it has made in the last few years.

“Emerging Asia remains an important focus for Amcor Flexibles and with 38 plants in 8 countries today, our presence in the Asia Pacific region will continue to grow both organically and through acquisitions. Our growth is supported by a solid foundation of delivering high quality, safe and innovative packaging,” said Ralf K. Wunderlich, president of Amcor Flexibles Asia Pacific, when he opened his company’s new plant in the Phillippines, the by-product of another partnership in the region.

The partnership between Amcor Flexibles Asia Pacific and Nordmeccanica will allow both industry leaders to leverage on each other’s expertise and commitment to innovation, technology and sustainability. Nordmeccanica has five plants (three in Italy, one in China and one in the United States) and two direct operations, in India and Argentina. The company also operates through a network of representatives covering 87 countries worldwide.

The agreement, signed by Wunderlich and Antonio Cerciello, president, Nordmeccanica, will provide optimised standard machine specifications and options, together with an improved and simplified process for ordering, delivery, installation and commissioning.

Wunderlich explained, “This strategic partnership supports our rapid growth throughout Asia and also enhances our ability to respond rapidly to the needs of our customers. As product safety remains a top priority for us at Amcor, working with reliable partners such as Nordmeccanica s.p.a. will allow us to unlock powerful environmental, social and economic opportunities, ensuring that we always deliver top quality and safe products to our customers.”

The lamination machines promise high performance yet low energy consumption, with minimal emission and solventless or water based technology, allowing Amcor to deliver safe, top quality and innovative packaging solutions to its customers.
