Amcor's newly-launched Accelerated Career Development Program is designed to attract ambitious professionals who are ready to take their careers up a level, and offers opportunities in both the APAC and Americas regions. 

The program is targeting commercially-savvy graduates with a Masters or MBA and around five years’ experience. It's also looking for people who are driven to outperform and show leadership potential. Successful candidates will bring a strong customer focus, an innovative, dynamic, courageous and pragmatic approach, exceptional business English and fluency in at least one other language.

The three-year long program will give the 20 successful candidates an opportunity to take on two roles in Sales, Marketing, Procurement or Strategy, each lasting 18 months. In addition, Amcor says the candidates can expect can expect international relocations, mentoring and dedicated training – all designed to get the best out of them, so they can achieve their career goals and lead Amcor into the future.

Cristina Istria, director of Organisational Development, said the program will have a big impact on the wider business.

“Our talented co-workers are the foundation of our success. We already have a winning team at Amcor, however, to maintain our high calibre of expertise we continue to invest in finding new candidates to join our company. New people bring fresh ideas and perspectives, ensuring Amcor develops and grows as a global leader,” she says.

 “The Accelerate program is designed to find professionals who can make their mark on Amcor from the word go, and play a leading role in our future. Finding the right people will be no small challenge and that’s why we’ve launched a dedicated global marketing campaign to promote the program.”

The program will be open for applications until 12 June in EMEA, 26 June in APAC and 10 June in the Americas and will be promoted via Amcor’s social channels Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter.

Despite established links between R&D, productivity, and economic growth, Australia’s investment in large business R&D has fallen 24 per cent to $2.9 billion – half that of peer countries, a report commissioned by the Business Council of Australia (BCA), Atlassian and Cochlear has found.

Reg Weine has resigned as CEO and managing director of infant formula company, Bubs Australia. He had been in the role since August 2023, having joined the board as a non-executive director in April that year. His replacement, Joe Coote, starts immediately.
