If you could get your Diploma in Packaging Technology with no fees, you’d do it, yes? The diploma is an internationally recognised qualification that will prepare students to take responsibility for packaging operations at any level through the supply chain. The qualification is comprehensive, its course covering the principles of packaging, packaging materials and packaging processes.

The scholarship is backed by The Australian Packaging and Processing Machinery Association (APPMA) and the Australian Institute of Packaging (AIP). These bodies have been at the forefront of packaging training and education in Australasia for generations. They have taken on the responsibility of helping packaging professionals, from packaging technologists to international packaging business leaders, determine the paths of their careers, as well as a host of people in associated disciplines - sales and marketing, purchasing, production and environment.

Mark Dingley, chairman of APPMA, commented, “The APPMA has been offering this educational program now for seven years and it is encouraging to see some of the previous winners now graduating from the Diploma.”

Ralph Moyle, national president of AIP, added, “The Diploma in Packaging Technology is an internationally recognised course that will provide exemplary skills to graduates and we commend the APPMA for their long-term commitment to educational growth within the packaging industry. We encourage all packaging engineers in Australia to apply.” 

Application forms are now available for the 2015 APPMA Scholarship and can be accessed by emailing APPMA or AIP or by visiting either website. 

Submissions must be received by close of business on Friday the 30 January. 

The 2015 winner will be announced at the APPMA Industry Excellence Awards, which are held in conjunction with AUSPACK 2015 at the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre next March.

Rumin8 is accelerating its methane reducing feed additive commercialisation progress in New Zealand, garnering $4.4 million (US$3 million) in investment as the company prepares to enter the final trial process.

French food and beverage giant Danone has acquired the UK-based meal replacement and functional nutrition brand, Huel, in a deal reported to be worth approximately €1 billion (AUD$1.2 billion).

The class action against Woolworths Group over the underpayment of salaried store managers has been extended in scope, with the claim period now running through to September 2020 following a Federal Court hearing on 20 March.
