Compostable packaging specialist TIPA is expanding its sustainable packaging portfolio with the acquisition of Sealpap, a supplier of recyclable paper-based packaging.

The company says the move broadens its offer to include both compostable and recyclable paper solutions, in line with changing EU regulations and increasing customer demand. Sealpap’s coated paper technology will sit alongside TIPA’s certified compostable flexible packaging, which is supplied globally through its subsidiary Bio4Pack.

Daphna Nissenbaum, co-founder and CEO of TIPA, said the aim is “to lead the industry toward truly circular packaging”, adding that integrating Sealpap allows the company to meet customer demand with a wider range of materials and remain aligned with regulatory shifts.

Robert van der Laan, owner of Sealpap, said, “By joining TIPA, Sealpap is taking a major step forward in enabling brands to choose truly sustainable paper-based packaging options, whether recyclable or compostable. Combining our expertise in coated paper technologies with TIPA’s proven leadership in compostability gives our customers a strategic edge, especially in light of the fast-approaching regulatory changes across Europe.”

TIPA supplies compostable packaging to a range of international brands. The company says the acquisition strengthens its position in the sustainable packaging market and supports its growth strategy in Europe and North America.
