Masterbatch specialist Ampacet has launched new technology which offers random colour effects for applications such as caps and closures.

FusionFx offers four colour palettes which use proprietary technology to produce a random flow of effects.

These effects enable designers to create a one-of-a-kind product through the infusion of colour at random into an injection-moulded PP part.

Ampacet's global colour insight director Linda Carroll says FusionFx ensures finished products are consistent, but never look exactly alike.

Applications include caps and closures, personal care products, and accessories.

Ampacet's masterbatch process produces a randomised flow of colour effects during the injection moulding process for what it calls “consistent inconsistencies”.

FusionFx enables mass customisation and also ensures that the physical properties of the finished part are maintained.

The four palettes – Carnival, Cork, Camouflage and GeoClassics – suit a range of product applications.

Each of the four FusionFx palettes has six standard variations, and utilise several colours from a 14-colour product line.

The full product line includes ROYGBIV colour spaces, along with special effects, giving endless customisation options.
