Packaging films producer Innovia is restructuring its business to allow for a stronger focus on BOPP films following the sale of its cellulose films arm earlier this year.

The company said it was now concentrating its efforts into its primary global core markets of high-performance advanced polymer solutions for labels, packaging, tobacco, and security films.

The internal restructure will ensure Innovia's BOPP focus is fully aligned throughout the business, according to MD Joe Piccione (pictured).

“Separating a business that has grown over more than 80 years is a challenge in itself,” he said.

“We are pleased to have achieved this in such a short time.”

Specialty films represent over 80 per cent of the company's sales.

“We tailor films to our customers’ requirements, whether they need barrier, thickness, printability, shrink tightening, squeezability, or fast sealing films for optimised performance,” Piccione said.

“Moving forward, we will be looking at how we can build upon our manufacturing capabilities and maximise our R&D and technical expertise.”
