BOPP films manufacturer Cosmo Films has launched a BOPP film it claims will enhance the moisture resistance of cement bags.

The film, which is already in commercial use with major cement brands, can be used for laminating block-bottom cement bags made of woven PP material.

A moisture barrier helps prevent cement spoilage, which has resulted from moisture and lump formation.

In addition, the print quality of the printed material is made more appealing, according to Cosmo.

The film's 100 per cent polyolefin structure means the film is also environmentally friendly, ensuring the bag is reusable.

Cosmo’s polypropylene-based film bonds with the woven PP fabric and can handle micro-perforation or nano embossing.

Apart from the cement and other building materials, these laminated bags can be used to pack such things as rice, flour, sugar, pet foods, fertilisers and chemicals.

Shanghai trials traffic light labelling, and Solar Food, making protein out of (virtually) nothing at all, opens its commercial scale facility (that's it in the pic).

Food Frontier’s industry leading annual alternative proteins conference, AltProteins 24, is on in Melbourne on 10 October, with early bird tickets now available.
