KHS Group, a global leader in filling and packaging systems for the beverage and liquid food industries, has released its 2023 sustainability report, highlighting significant strides in environmental stewardship and corporate responsibility.

Central to the report is KHS's commitment to reducing greenhouse gas emissions, aligning its goals with the Science-Based Targets initiative (SBTi) alongside Salzgitter AG. Key initiatives include the installation of a photovoltaic system at its Dortmund headquarters, aimed at enhancing energy independence and securing local operations.

"We're proud to announce our latest sustainability report, which not only meets EU directives but also underscores our commitment to transparency and environmental sustainability," said Nicole Pohl, senior CSR manager at KHS.

"This report reflects our efforts to integrate sustainability into our core operations and align with global standards."

In addition to reducing its carbon footprint, KHS reports that its São Paulo factory has transitioned to 100% certified green electricity, marking a significant step towards sustainable manufacturing practices globally. Future plans include expanding the use of renewable energy across all global facilities to further mitigate environmental impact.

The report also outlines KHS's broader corporate strategy, encompassing governance, product responsibility, operational ecology, and social governance. This comprehensive approach aims to ensure that sustainability remains a cornerstone of KHS's operations and growth strategy moving forward.
