BW Packaging, Barry-Wehmiller’s packaging machinery business, is combining its BW Flexible Systems, BW Filling & Closing and BW Integrated Systems divisions into one organisation. The company says the new structure will strengthen its ability to design and support fully integrated packaging lines and provide lifetime aftermarket care for customers globally.

“We couldn’t be more excited about what this transformation means for our team members, customers and industry partners,” said Rachana Creeth, president, BW Packaging. “The single BW Packaging structure positions us to solve our customers’ most complex challenges through integrated packaging solutions while enabling us to deliver on our core Barry-Wehmiller values.”

Denning Saum, chief product and marketing officer, BW Packaging, said the company’s aligned team will allow “more agile support and forward-thinking solutions” for customers worldwide.

Matt Venezia, chief commercial officer, BW Packaging, said existing contracts and purchase orders will remain in effect, and any future changes that may affect customers or suppliers will be communicated in advance.

The BW Packaging senior leadership team also includes Pete Carlson, chief operating officer; Eric Collier, chief automation & integration officer; Heath Eckert, chief finance & administration officer; Geoff Nykin, chief strategy & enablement officer; and Greg Wolf, chief strategic initiatives officer. Since June, the team has appointed more than 150 members to leadership positions to help guide the new organisation.

South Australian company, Spring Gully Foods, has ceased trading and appointed an administrator, citing the loss of key contracts, rising costs, and competition from cheaper imports as reasons behind its closure.

Fonterra Co-op says its $66 million (NZ$75m) investment to expand the Clandeboye site in South Canterbury, New Zealand, is part of the co-op’s plan to invest $883 million (NZ$1b) over the next three to four years.

Award winning distillery, Sullivans Cove, has unveiled its 25 Year Old Single Malt whisky, Australia’s oldest single malt ever bottled. According to the distillery, it is also possibly the oldest to have been produced by a continuously operating and dedicated new world whisky distillery.
