Global food packaging and processing solutions specialist, Heat and Control, has acquired Fabcon Food Systems, a UK-based manufacturer specialising in bespoke processing and handling equipment for the food industry.

The deal will see Fabcon’s product range, which includes vibratory conveyors and systems for processing, sorting, flavouring, weighing and packing, added to Heat and Control’s existing portfolio. The company said the acquisition will strengthen its packaging and handling capabilities, particularly in the snack food, french fry and protein sectors.

Tony Caridis, president of Heat and Control, said Fabcon’s equipment complements its own range and will support the delivery of “more innovative solutions” to customers globally.

Fabcon, founded in 2013, operates a manufacturing facility in Europe and supplies cost-effective systems tailored to the needs of food manufacturers. The company employs a technical team focused on customer service.

“The addition of these solutions will allow our global sales network to confidently serve existing customers, while also creating opportunities to expand into new markets,” said Caridis.

Trevor Howard, managing director at Fabcon Food Systems, said the move would support expansion into new regions and maintain delivery of “innovative and reliable solutions”.

“Fabcon Food Systems recognise the importance of consistently exceeding the expectations of our customers, partners, suppliers and employees,” he said.
