Interpack 2023 is just around the corner, and industry leaders are gearing up to showcase their latest innovations in food, confectionery, pharmaceutical packaging and processing. Nupac, a prominent player in the field throughout Australia and New Zealand, is heading to Interpack and has provided a teaser on what to expect from its partners showcasing pharmaceutical and cosmetic solutions.

Looking forward to the expo, managing director of Nupac, Peter Pontikis says he sees great value in the trade show:  “Interpack presents a unique opportunity for industry players to display their latest innovations and engage in face-to-face discussions with customers. With a wide range of cutting-edge equipment on display, this event promises to be a must-visit for anyone in the packaging and processing industry.”

In the pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries, Nupac’s partners include the Rotzinger Group, which operates across the food, pharmaceutical, and cosmetic sectors. At Interpack it will unveil an updated version of its TLT blister machine. This new and improved model boasts enhanced flexibility, safety, and quicker changeover times while maintaining high overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).

The group will also present their FLK/VRM filling and capping machine, which combines a linear filler and rotative capper. Due to this design, it offers maximum efficiency and flexibility and adaptability between formats for filling products ranging from water-like to viscous and sticky liquids. Andreas Gaf, CEO of Rotzinger PharmaPack expressed his thoughts stating that “this machine is a proven and reliable solution and we are excited to bring it back”.

Syntegon will also have a strong presence with its pharmaceutical technology. This will feature vial filling and finishing equipment with connectivity to the new Synexio cloud-based software This software proves real time data acquisition, helping manufacturers ensure production factors interact perfectly, allowing for maximum availability, performance and quality in their equipment.

Also on show will be the new banding machine for hard, liquid filled capsules. With additional pharmaceutical solutions for capsule banding and R&D batch production, Syntegon will also be displaying a complete gummy line which will be of great interest to manufacturers involved in the constantly evolving nutraceutical market. This new generation turnkey line will have a dominant presence at the expo and gives visitors a clear view of the connectivity of a full Syntegon line. 

Finally, R. Deckert will display its modular filling and closing machines for bottles with the TVM 758. This compact filling and sealing machine is optimally equipped for the lower output range and covers all the tasks of a conventional line to perfection. It has been designed to allow for all work steps of a conventional line in a single compact machine.

Nupac will also be supporting the leading counting solution provider, Cremer, and the global sieving and filtering leaders Russell Finex, who are set to display their known and trusted solutions across Interpack, which have relevance to manufacturers looking for automation in all industries.

In a bid to become a global B2B dairy nutrition provider, dairy co-op Fonterra says it’s looking to divest some or all its global consumer business, including Fonterra Oceania.

While Treasurer Jim Chalmers talked up Australia’s future and cherry-picked emerging industries to allocate funds to, the brewing and distilling industry felt the full brunt of a cold shoulder.

The Food and Beverage Accelerator (FaBA) and the Grains Research and Development Corporation (GRDC) are co-investing on innovation projects in the grains and legumes industry.
