Toppan, global provider of sustainable and integrated solutions in packaging, will be participating for the first time in Fine Food Australia 2022, a leading trade event for the food industry, held at the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre from 5-8 September.

Toppan will be showcasing a wide range of its latest sustainable packaging solutions, including its market-leading transparent barrier film, GL Barrier, for Australian food producers and other end users, as well as barrier packaging in the form of microwavable packaging and paper-based composite containers.

The GL Barrier is Toppan’s proprietary range of transparent barrier films, which comes with barrier performance enabled by unique vapour deposition and coating technologies, and an extensive line-up for diverse applications.

As a new addition to the GL Barrier line-up, Toppan has developed packaging that delivers excellent performance, in terms of barrier properties and other characteristics, while employing mono-material compositions, such as PP or PE, rather than laminating multiple materials to fulfill different roles.

The superior suitability for recycling of these packaging materials has been recognised by multiple European recyclability assessment bodies.

“By participating in Fine Food Australia, Toppan will raise the profile of its globally expanding converting business and GL Barrier products in Australia, and drive further business growth to meet worldwide demand for sustainable packaging, which is underpinned by increasing environmental consciousness,” the company stated.

Expansion of its global packaging business is set as one of its main priorities, and Toppan is accelerating its efforts to cater to demand for sustainable solutions, and establish networks facilitating local production for local consumption.

In recent years, Toppan have advanced its packaging business in Asia, and bolstered its GL Barrier manufacturing and supply capability for European and North American markets. The company is further strengthening its global production and sales operations, with an eye on North America, Europe, Latin America and Asia.

Last year, Toppan acquired InterFlex Group, a packaging manufacturer with locations in the US and UK, and have also made leading Indian film manufacturer Max Specialty Films and Thai packaging company Majend Makcs, consolidated subsidiaries.
