Continental has launched a range of "more natural" chicken and beef stock powders with new, easy-use packaging.

The new packaging format allows consumers to sprinkle or scoop the stock powder straight from the pack with the purpose of controlling portions and reducing mess and waste in the kitchen.

The design incorporates a sprinkle lid as well as an induction seal aimed at improving the freshness of the product.

The new packaging also allows for dual usage – in addition to the more conventional spoonable method, consumers can also shake the stock powder directly into their recipe for a flavour boost.

The new recipes also include a reduction in salt which aligns with Unilever’s Sustainability Living Plan.

The stocks are made with natural flavours, and in the case of the chicken variants, all-natural colours.

Continental has also increased the meat content across its stock powders to give additional flavour.

Shanghai trials traffic light labelling, and Solar Food, making protein out of (virtually) nothing at all, opens its commercial scale facility (that's it in the pic).

Food Frontier’s industry leading annual alternative proteins conference, AltProteins 24, is on in Melbourne on 10 October, with early bird tickets now available.
