Chobani has moved to flip-top packs on its new FiT X range of high-protein yoghurts. PKN asked managing director Peter Meek why.

The FiT X range, which has no added sugar and high protein, includes a number of dry ingredients to mix in with the yoghurt. The in-mould label pack was supplied by Pak Pot and foil lid from The Van Dyke Press.

According to Peter Meek, managing director, the FiT X range was crafted with functional eaters at front of mind.

“We know that when 3pm rolls around, functional eaters still have the same sweet cravings as everyone else, and with the growing popularity of the FiT range we knew there was an opportunity to provide something unique to the market.

“The flip format separates the yogurt from the dry ingredients and allows snackers to flip the mix-ins into the yogurt at the time of consumption, giving them the perfect punch of crunch,” he said.

Chobani has also factored sustainability into the pack design, which does not use the carbon black colour pigment, according to Meek.

“Although this came at an extra cost to the business, we understood the importance of making one hundred per cent of FiT X packaging recyclable,” he said.

The Chobani FiT X range is available at Woolworths now, and will hit Coles shelves on September 4. It includes the Vanilla Cookie Crush; Strawberry Choc Hit; Tropical Fruit Smash; Mint Choc Crunch; Banana Peanut Punch; and Raspberry Coco Blast flavours.
