Measurement and precision instruments supplier Mettler Toledo has produced a free guide to avoiding problems in weighing.

Called Weighing the right way, the guide provides tips and tricks that will help users mitigate risk factors in the lab setting to enhance weighing accuracy.

Weighing is one of the most common laboratory tasks, and micro, semi-micro, analytical, and precision balances are now perfected to such a degree that special weighing rooms are generally no longer needed.

However, with these advances comes the risk that not enough care will be taken to prevent factors that can damage accuracy, particularly in micro and semi-micro ranges.

The guide covers critical weighing concepts such as linearity, measurement uncertainty, and minimum weight.
