Lifecycles is launching a packaging life cycle assessment (LCA) training course to empower packaging professionals with improving packaging circularity in Australia.

Lifecycles is one of Australia’s most experienced provider of circular economy and sustainability research, consulting, tool development, emission factors and training.

The company provides quantification and metrics to inform sustainability decision-making, from the micro level of design and material selection through to the macro level of policy development and strategic interventions.

The training course aims to:

  • Understand the importance of LCA in sustainable packaging
  • Confidently use PIQET for eco-design, benchmarking and meeting APCO targets
  • Learn techniques to design for circularity
  • Assess end-of-life scenarios to reduce your litter impact
  • Improve transport and supply chain logistics
  • Understand and unpack LCA, circularity and packaging metrics

The course will be conducted by Tim Grant, who has worked in LCA for over 20 years and has undertaken over 50 full LCA studies, including the development of the Australian National Life Cycle Inventory Database.

He is a founding member and current director of the Australian Life Cycle Assessment Society and is a pillar of the international Life Cycle community through his involvement with the UNEP/SETAC Life Cycle Initiative, ISO standards development committee for ISO14048, and the Forum for Sustainability through Life Cycle Innovation.
