The Australasian Institute of Packaging (AIP) and Henkel will hold a virtual site tour on Wednesday 27 May, focusing on packaging solutions, automation, and sustainability initiatives across Australia, New Zealand and the APAC region.

The session will include a guided overview of Henkel’s packaging capabilities and facilities, combining real-world project examples and expert insights.

A collaboration between Henkel and Opal on an Automated Hotmelt Packaging System will be presented as part of the programme, followed by a broader overview of sustainable packaging across APAC.

Topics covered during the session include Henkel’s role in the packaging industry across ANZ and APAC, its packaging portfolio, and sustainability initiatives aimed at supporting customers’ goals. The portfolio includes Technomelt, Liofol, Aquence and EPIX adhesives.

The tour will also outline operational learnings from the Opal–Henkel partnership and include a case study on the Automated Hotmelt Packaging System. Attendees will be introduced to Recyclability Lab, Henkel’s initiative focused on recyclability and circular packaging, as well as the company’s Pathway to Packaging Sustainability.

The event will conclude with a live Q&A, where attendees can engage directly with Henkel and Opal experts.

Presenters include Jose Reano, business development manager at Henkel Australia; Malu Bassi, business development manager at Henkel Australia; Yanjie Zheng, manager sustainability packaging at Henkel APAC; and Shaun Thomas, head of Campbell and Partnerships at Opal.

Participants will receive points towards the Certified Packaging Professional designation for attending the webinar.
