Yalumba recently launched a new look for its Y Series collection wines, sporting eye-catching label designs created by South Australian artist Cindy Durant and printed by Multi-Color Premium Label Solutions.

Inspired by Durant's visit to Yalumba, the designs feature 12 original pieces of her artwork, with each depicting a layer of the vineyard, from sun to soil to wind (see image below).

The distinctive signature letter heroes the letter ‘Y’, which gains further stand out appeal thanks to advanced printing and finishing techniques by Multi-Color Premium Label Solutions (MCC).

According to Leigh Tolfts, account manager, MCC Australia, the new look Y Series front labels were printed on offset using spot pms colours with an all over grain emboss pattern. A gloss high build screen was used over the large ‘Y’, the dot pattern, and also ‘The Y Series’ text, using a spot matt varnish. The backs were printed on flexo with spot pms colours, and matt varnished without embellishment.

Marketing manager Jacinta Gibson said, “The Y Series features a broad collection of refreshing, fruit-driven wines from a trusted family-owned winery.”

The collection features twelve popular red and white wine varieties, including a new wine – Y Series Pinot Noir, which has already received a great review from esteemed wine writer Huon Hooke.

“It’s light and simple, but it’s also fresh, fruity and varietal – in other words, it tastes like a pinot –and it’s a really nice drink,” noted Hooke upon tasting the 2021 vintage Pinot Noir.

The vegan friendly, gluten free and 100 per cent wild fermented Y Series wines are available at Yalumba.com and local liquor stores for RRP $15.

The new labels were created by artist Cindy Durant and printed by Multi-color Premium Label Solutions.
