An almond milk company is giving the coffee industry the chance to vote on its next packaging design.

Almond Breeze is asking baristas and roasters to share which design they like the best for the Barista Blend variety, and go into the running to win $20,000 to divide between themselves and their favourite café.

The blend, which is designed for professionals, is in need of a packaging update, according to ANZ country director Mike McNulty.

“We want the new packaging to fit the authenticity of our Barista Blend brand and support Australia’s thriving coffee culture," he said.

"The Australian café scene is dominated by small, independent businesses; in fact, coffee chains only make up five per cent of the market.

"We want to make sure we are appealing to those individual and homegrown cafes out there.

"We are especially excited to be a part of Melbourne International Coffee Expo this year to showcase the new design concepts and invite baristas, café owners and roasters who use Barista Blend daily to get involved in the process through our competition.”

Almond Breeze has been developing new packaging for the past nine months to ensure it meets the mark in design.

Sticking with Blue Diamond’s signature blue, the proposed packaging designs balance subtle craft elements with a simpler aesthetic to create a sophisticated and authentic look.
